Free Christmas Parking

Free Christmas Parking

Free Christmas Parking is back in Fylde Council car parks this festive season!

Fylde Council will be offering free car parking on weekends up to Christmas to help make shopping during the festive season a little bit easier.

Free Christmas Parking

The first free day will be Saturday 1st December to support Small Business Saturday. This is a national campaign to encourage more people to shop local and support small businesses in the community.

For the following 3 weekends (8th and 9th, 15th and 16th, 22nd and 23rd December), all Council owned Pay and Display car parks are free to use all day.

Cllr Roger Small, Chair of the Operational Management Committee, said “We are delighted to offer the free weekend parking again this year to support both shoppers and businesses. The first weekend in December is to primarily support small businesses in our town centres.

“Please try to consider shopping locally this Christmas as the small independent businesses really are the lifeblood of our town centres. Together let’s make 2018 a wonderful Christmas.”

Don’t Drink and Drive

Fylde Council are also helping to tackle drink driving this festive season by reminding residents that paid-for parking tickets run over to the next day.

When you buy a pay and display ticket in the evening, this will run through for the amount of time paid to the following morning.

It helps you to avoid drink driving by giving you enough time to sober up in the morning before collecting your car. If you’re staying over in one of the hotels, you can have a lie in and enough time for the alcohol to leave your system.

Merry Christmas!
